Yacht Class n°24 (mars-avril-mai 2021)

Monaco One

At the beginning of February, the third port of the Principality with Port Hercule and Fontvieille, Cala Del Forte, within reach since it is located in Ventimiglia, launched its shuttle. And not just any shuttle, since it is a catamaran of almost 12 metres in length with an impressive exterior design. It is an unambiguous expression of performance and, indeed, she is capable at full speed of her two 350 hp Yanmar diesels of reaching 50 knots. She is equipped with surface propellers, as speed demands it. At a cruising speed of 40 knots, she carries twelve passengers in business class and takes no more than fifteen minutes to get from Cala Del Forte to Port Hercule. The first tests have revealed her seafaring character and her tendency to consume reasonably. “Monaco One”, as she was christened, is therefore reserved for yacht owners who have moored their unit in Cala Del Forte and wish to reach the Principality quickly. Note that she was built by a French shipyard with an English name: Advanced Aerodynamic Vessels (La Rochelle). In addition, the port’s CEO, Gian Battista Borea d’Olmo, has signed a five-year licence agreement with the companies Serafini and Centro Petroli Impianti for the supply of marine fuel, under the Servizio Mare brand name.
