Yacht Class n°33 (june-july-august 2023)

Ferretti Group

The brand of Ferretti group does not conceive a year without at least one new model. This was accomplished in 2022 with the launch of the 860, that fits between the 780 and 920. Elegant, voluminous, finely decorated and powerful, this 24-metre will make happy.

In Ferretti Group, which has no less than seven brands (Ferretti Yachts, CRN, Riva, Custom Line, Itama, Wally and Pershing), Ferretti Yachts is one of those that best embodies the spirit of the three-deck flybridge, with nine models from 58 to 100 feet, including the 860. This one respects the DNA dear to the shipyard with slender lines and a beautiful balance in shapes. Let’s applaud the talent of Filippo Salvetti who designed this model in collaboration with the Strategic Product Committee (Piero Ferrari) and Ferretti Group Engineering Department. We are confident that this 860, with her timeless silhouette, will not age.

The outdoors highlight: the sunbridge

On a yacht of this length, the designer will not omit to give space to the outdoor areas dedicated, for the most part, to relaxation. For once, let’s head straight for the foredeck, designed to offer a lounge convertible into a solarium facing two chairs integrated into the deckhouse. After the bow, let’s head for the stern and another very comfortable spot: the 18 m2 cockpit. It features a large table (two opposite settees and two chairs) against a glass railing so as not to miss anything of the sea view. This flybridge also has a generous upper deck of 44 m2. As standard, it offers a port lounge that can easily be transformed into a dining area, opposite a kitchenette-bar. Forward is located a starboard helm station with two armchairs and an opposite solarium. The aft part of this sunbridge will be the perfect place for deckchairs. Its roof has a central opening.

A contemporary and meticulous decoration

When entering the common area of the main deck (28 m2), the layout gives a real impression of space. There is nothing in the centre of the room, the bench seat and its corner (4 to 6 people) are located on starboard in front of a storage unit and a super TV screen (75 inches). Note the floor-to-ceiling windows and the top of the transparent planking that will ensure a rather generous sea view. This asset should also be greatly appreciated, in the dining area, by the guests (8 maximum) around the circular table. On this unit, the galley is totally independent, but adjacent to the dining area. It will delight the chef considering how well equipped it is. Then comes the forward main wheelhouse, spread across the entire width of the deck. The design steering console with its three control screens is ergonomic. To port is a mini salon for two, perfect for those who want to discover navigation. On this model of almost 24 metres, all the cabins are located on the lower deck, including the largest one: the master of 20 m2, with a discreet luxury and an interplay of contrast between the ceiling, the white headboard and the dark wood dressing room. The bathroom has two sinks. The toilet and bidet are independent, as is the shower. More modest, the two guest cabins (10 m2 each) are no less comfortable. The fourth cabin is an en suite twin. The 860 thus boasts four passenger cabins, plus two crew cabins (2 x 2 bunk beds and 2 bathrooms) on this lower deck.

A predictable successful future

Given her sleek lines, the Ferretti Yachts 860 could only have flattering claims as to performance. Ferretti Group’s in-house design studio did not skimp by equipping it with two 2 000 hp MAN diesels, and the result is positive: 32 knots at maximum speed. She has a recommended cruising speed of 27 knots. Habitable and comfortable, the 860 also knows how to “shorten” the distances!
