Yacht Class n°34 (sept-oct-nov 2023)
Last June, the Monegasque institution organised its traditional 15th YCM Golf Challenge, which brought together 104 members, divided into teams of two, on the green of Mont-Agel for a tournament in the scramble format. “The club now has around 2 500 members, 1 500 of whom are interested in golf,” explained Criss Roux, the club’s administrative and financial director, who initiated the event. “It’s a special event because the competition is spread throughout the day, with morning and afternoon teams. Lunch is at the Monte-Carlo Golf Club. In the evening, there’s a gala dinner and prize-giving ceremony at YCM.” As for the results, Mathieu Louppe / Sylvia Ratkowski won the net category and Bernard Thomas / Gregory Doux the gross one. The women’s team prize went to Mireille Giraud and Brigitte Pasquier. This competition was an opportunity to create a synergy with the Courchevel Sports Club. Its director, Bruno Tuaire, was invited to the challenge. “In the future, we’ll undoubtedly have members of the ski club participating”, said Criss Roux. “And there will certainly be a ski competition there with their members and ours”.
