A milestone is reached thanks to the awarding of the English label Royal Yachting Association (RYA), symbol of excellence in maritime training. An international positioning made possible thanks to the commitment of La Belle Classe Academy and its Sports Section.

“It is with great pride that I announce to you this evening that the Yacht Club of Monaco is now approved RYA. This international recognition reinforces the quality of our training. For the benefit of professional crews, as well as young people from our Sports Section. I express the wish that we go even further, by developing the RYA La Belle Classe Academy programmes, to train with the utmost rigour and enthusiasm, the sailors of tomorrow.” It is in these terms that HSH Prince Albert II announced at the end of June during the traditional annual cocktail reception for club members, the officialisation of the Royal Yachting Association accreditation. While the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) has been delivering the Level I & II Powerboat for powerboating since March 2024, it is now adding the RYA Dinghy Sailing (dinghy) and Personal Watercraft Courses offers for jet-skiing. With the opportunity to join the international network of more than 2,400 accredited centres and offer certified training all year round, the YCM aims to train tomorrow’s sailors with a clear ambition: convert the Principality into a centre of excellence and innovation at the service of international yachting. An assistant instructor internship is also being created through Tiziano Massa, the first YCM coach to obtain the RYA Sailing Scheme Instructor diploma. That mission will entail to support the young sailors of the Sports Section of the Club wanting to supervise sailing lessons. The programme includes pedagogy, security, and the evaluation of technical skills including a module on seamanship. This internship will be supervised by James Brooke, the RYA chief instructor of the Yacht Club de Monaco. On the other hand, the RYA Dinghy Sailing trainings, supervised by qualified instructors, are integrated into the annual offer of the YCM and can be found on the website: www.labelleclasseacademy.com
