Sensuality and hybridisation
Yacht Class n°28 (march-april-may 2022)
To develop this 75-metre Italian superyacht, the team of architects and designers worked from explicit specifications provided by the shipowner. The result is an edifying combination of modern lines (with a neo-retro style, thanks to an inverted bow) and a hybrid propulsion system very much in tune with the times. The latter combines the energy of two Azimut Thrusters and two large diesel generators (equipped with particle filters for minimum pollutant emissions) delivers the equivalent of nearly 4 000 hp to propel this displacement hull at a maximum speed of 15.4 knots, and 13.6 knots when cruising. This "soft" engine configuration is matched by a sensual design, with curves falling towards the stern and rounded edges on the three decks and hard top. The most striking aesthetic element is undoubtedly the steeply sloping planking in the aft quarter, which merges with the swim platform. This subtle design stretches the silhouette and gives little indication of the amazing living space, with a 2.70m headroom in the salons and cabins. All guest cabins are seven metres long and the master cabin thirteen. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows provide plenty of natural light. The sixteen passengers (eight cabins) will be attended by nineteen crew members plus the captain (twelve cabins). The decoration is mainly based on light tones (cream-coloured carpets and fabrics, blond wood partitions and ceilings). The numerous and vast outdoor spaces comprise as many lounges and solariums, including the immense beach club and its swimming pool almost at sea level. Launched this winter, Kensho should be available for charter next summer in the Mediterranean.
