A grouping of 90 yachting-related companies, the Cluster “Yachting Monaco” has succeeded over its first decade in promoting the Principality’s expertise in this sector and extending its influence worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Written by : Christophe Var\u00e8ne – Photos : Mesi<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The figures speak for themselves and were well worth celebrating. Launched ten years ago, under the initiative of Bernard d’Alessandri, general secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM), Cluster “Yachting Monaco” represents 90 yachting companies, an industry generating a turnover of \u20ac567,1 millions in the Principality: a success! Then, last June 11th<\/sup>, YCM president Prince Albert II marked the Cluster’s 10th<\/sup> anniversary celebration with his presence and told the gathered members: “This initiative has become a reality. You are ambassadors of the yachting industry in the Principality. We want it to be as sustainable as possible over time but to also have an environmental purpose”. Bernard d’Alessandri, founder & President of the Cluster Yachting Monaco, alongside Vice-Presidents Espen Oeino and Edouard Mousny, Treasurer Laurent Certaldi, emphasised the work done: “In ten years we have achieved many milestones, highlighting the strategic aspect of yachting in Monaco’s economy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n The importance of the Cluster “Yachting Monaco”, with its 90 member companies, is visible on the international stage, including at boat shows, such as Dubai, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, where its role as a federative body, a privileged intermediary and a rallying point for all actors in the Monegasque yachting industry\u2013 brokers, designers, shipyards, equipment suppliers\u2026 – around common objectives is now recognized. Six working groups have been set up around specific themes: Compliance-KYC, Brainstorming Destination Monaco, Spring and Winter Pop up by Cluster ”Yachting Monaco”, International promotion, Partnerships and Sustainability, the energy transition. They have helped to structure actions and consolidate ambitions. “Monaco today has established itself as THE reference for the yachting industry,” says Peter L\u00fcrssen from the eponymous shipyard for whom the Cluster “must keep going on this path of excellence and continue to inspire us to build a future for sustainable yachting”.<\/p>\n\n\n\nHigh ambitions <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
