The Turkish builder Sirena continues to expand its range at a sustained pace. While awaiting the arrival next autumn of the 118, the new flagship of the fleet, it unveiled the Sirena 60 at the latest Cannes Yachting Festival. A sea trial, late in the day under sunny but windy conditions, made it possible to assess the behaviour of this yacht that clearly harbours ambitions for long-distance cruising, with a range reaching 800 nautical miles at 10 knots. A well-defined chop provided an ideal proving ground for this test, which ultimately proved positive. No doubt this reflects the influence of German Frers, whose naval architecture firm designed the yacht. Passing through the confused waves generated by the heavy traffic typical of each evening of the show delivers a feeling of smoothness. Admittedly, the stabilizers are in operation, but passengers nonetheless appreciate not having to hold on, while being able to converse normally in the interior saloon without raising their voices. Speeds of over 24 knots, achieved with the maximum engine configuration (two Volvo Penta D13s developing 900 hp each) and under these conditions, confirm the quality of the design: efficiency and stability without pounding or vibration. The overall silhouette does not immediately suggest such pleasing performance, with relatively high freeboard and imposing superstructures, despite the large windows on the main deck and the slender supports of the hard top at flybridge level. On the other hand, it does hint at generous interior volumes, which we are about to confirm by visiting this Sirena 60. On the main deck, the enclosed area proves very welcoming thanks to its extensive glazed surfaces and the soft colour palette of the fittings. The galley, ergonomic and well equipped – featuring in particular several refrigeration units – occupies the space near the cockpit, creating a link between the exterior and interior. This is followed by a saloon convertible into a dining area for sheltered dinners, and the navigation station to port. Descending a few steps leads to the sleeping quarters. Amidships, the owner\u2019s cabin spans the full beam of the yacht and therefore benefits from excellent natural light. Owners also enjoy a sofa, a desk, and ample hanging lockers, all within the same refined, subdued atmosphere. Before reaching the VIP cabin forward – also well provided with storage – one discovers a twin cabin offering the same level of finish and comfort. Each cabin, of course, has its own private bathroom. Let\u2019s head back outside to appreciate the large fixed aft platform, as well as access to the crew cabin (one berth and a toilet compartment). The cockpit offers a sheltered space under the flybridge overhang, but the generously sized side decks must be used to fully appreciate the layout of the foredeck. The latter stands out as a highly convivial area, both at anchor and while cruising at reduced speed: it offers passengers a lounge with a telescopic table surrounded by wide bench seats with high backrests, as well as an impressively sized sun pad. Throughout, there are retractable lights to create a romantic atmosphere in the evening, plenty of cup holders, and multiple storage lockers. For those who wish to gain height and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view, the flybridge – accessible via a somewhat steep staircase but equipped with handrails – offers an excellent solution. In addition to the four light supports already mentioned, the hard top is also supported by a central column fitted with a shower, against which a kitchenette is arranged. While the aft section is left open for the installation of sun loungers or deck chairs, the forward area brings together a seating lounge with a table, a sun pad, and a second helm station for cruising with the wind in your hair. With her very pleasant behaviour at sea, her well-designed living areas, and her careful construction, this Sirena 60 boasts some very strong assets<\/p>\n\n<\/figure>\n\n
