Yacht Class n°41 (June-July-August 2025)

Groupe Azimut – Benetti

In addition to its superyacht ranges, Benetti is also a specialist in custom-built yachts, such as the 67-metre Kasper 7, whose refinement is reflected in both the exterior design, by Cassetta Yacht Designers, and the interior fittings, which are largely the work of owner Nisrine Karagulla. A great success.

Italian manufacturer Benetti, a member of the Azimut – Benetti group founded by the recently deceased Paolo Vitelli, is undoubtedly one of the leaders, if not the first, in the world of superyachts. Its Livorno production site produces 34 to 44 metre composite yachts, and steel and aluminium yachts from 37 metres up to more than 100 metres. While five lines (Class, Oasis, B.Yond, B.Now and B.Century) are included in the catalogue, Custom models benefit from the same expertise, as demonstrated by the 67-metre Benetti named Kasper 7. The design was carried out in perfect harmony between the owners, the shipyard’s engineers and the renowned Cassetta Yacht Designers agency. The result speaks for itself, if not flatteringly, as the numerous awards received attest. It’s not hard to recognise the elegance of this superyacht, with her knife-edge profile, her cut-out bow with its pronounced step, her vast main deck uncluttered at the bow and her superstructures that are as light as possible. As a result, this six-decker manages the feat of not appearing massive. While she draws some of her charm from classic features, her modernity should also enable her to stand the test of time without ageing. As usual with Benetti yachts of this size, the construction is mixed: steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure. The owner, Nisrine Karagulla, a renowned interior designer, then set about creating the interior fittings, from defining the volumes to selecting the wood species. Now it is time to explore the different levels of this unit that is sure to turn a lot of heads.

A sundeck, an island of tranquillity

Let’s start at altitude with what the manufacturer calls the sundeck, a space lost between sky and sea, like an island of intimacy. Well secured by the handrail that surrounds it, this area – as we shall see – is decorated in a soft, restful monochrome of cream, ochre and sand. Passengers can enjoy the sun and the view either stretched out on the deckchairs at the front, or in the convivial aft saloon, with a bar featuring a long counter and high seating in the centre. Moving down a level, the bridge deck is divided into two distinct areas. The forward section is dedicated to the wheelhouse, offering maximum visibility, as well as the captain’s cabin, his office and a kitchenette. Towards the stern, there is a well-protected fitness room, while outside, a vast saloon and bar await passengers for moments of sharing after the effort.

A serene owner’s suite

Let’s move on to the upper deck, where the owners’ suite is located. This huge suite comprises a small lounge at the entrance, followed by a corridor, complete with cupboards. In the middle of the corridor, a door gives access to the dressing room and the shower room, where all the elements are doubled (washbasin, shower cubicle, toilet). Lastly, with a view over the private foredeck, the bedroom spreads out in an atmosphere imbued with serenity, still using the same light tones, combined with soft curves, where abundant natural light and refined lighting combine. In the centre, as on all but the most extreme levels, there are two lobbies, one for passengers and the other for crew. The rest of this level is taken up by a vast indoor lounge and an outdoor area with a long table for fourteen guests, close to another lounge.

A beach club for nautical pleasures

The main deck has plenty to offer in terms of comfort and conviviality. While the forward section, sheltered by the upper deck, contains garages for the tender, water toys and life-saving equipment, there is also a vast dining room for sixteen people, closed off for cooler days, a galley with professional equipment, a saloon of remarkable proportions, and finally, at the stern, a vast terrace overlooking the beach club. The beach club is also connected to a room dedicated to water sports – with storage for diving equipment, sailboards and surfboards – and to relaxation thanks to the massage room and bar. Everywhere you look, one can appreciate the marine, even underwater, atmosphere, with the benches and armchairs in the shape of large pebbles and the structure of the bar reminiscent of a coral reef. While the engine room occupies the centre of the lower deck, passengers will find four beautiful cabins of equivalent size, with all the comforts you would expect in a yacht of this size, with large bathrooms and the same delicate, sophisticated decoration. Towards the bow, the crew quarter has nine cabins for around fifteen crew members, an office, a sickbay and a mess. Finally, the lower sub-deck is functional, housing not only the stabilisers and tanks, but also storage areas, cold rooms and laundry.

5,000 miles of autonomy

Let’s not forget the original purpose of this type of superyacht: to discover idyllic landscapes on all the world’s coasts by sea. To achieve this, the Benetti 67 m Kasper 7 is equipped with two powerful Caterpillar 3512E diesel engines, each developing 1,800 hp. While the top speed remains moderate at 16 knots, the range of 5,000 miles at 10 knots should be appreciated: it must be said that with a fuel capacity of 127,000 litres, distances can be extended. One may point out that two Nayad Dynamics stabilisers ensure the well-being of everyone on board. The sailing programme therefore includes ocean crossings and the ability to stay away from refuelling points. Perfect for enjoying the discreet sophistication of the fittings and their soothing atmosphere.
