Yacht Class n°37 (june-july-agust 2024)
Permare – Amer Yachts
This is a flybridge that honors its category. The F100 Glass Cabin, so named because she has generous glazeds surfaces, is very habitable and welcoming. With her main deck bathed in natural light, her 60 m2 sunbridge and her five cabins, she combines many qualities making her an ideal cruising unit.

The Permare shipyard was founded by Fernando Amerio in Liguria (Italy) in 1973. He started out restoring yachts before creating the Amer brand in the early 1990s, based on quality, innovation and customisation. His passion for the sea is shared by his daughter Barbara and son Rodolfo, who now run Permare with the same aim of providing ‘wellbeing’ onboard units designed with clients. They also have a high level of environmental awareness, especially when it comes to design, with the use of composite materials and recyclable natural fibres.
Four Volvo Penta IPS
Here comes the F100, named Glass Cabin because she features maximum glazing to capture as much natural light as possible, particularly on the main deck, and also because certain structures, such as the partitions, are made of glass. The exteriors of this three-deck flybridge were created by Andrea Ramasco, who also designed several Amer: the 94, the 94 Twin, the Cento and the 120. At first glance, this F100 Glass Cabin looks like a conqueror of the seas. For this, he relies on four 900 hp diesel engines – Volvo Penta IPS1200 – renowned for their efficiency. To prove it, she boasts a range of 2 000 miles at a maximum speed of 9 knots. She can hit 28 knots and has a range of 480 miles at the “fast” cruising speed of 20 knots. It should be noted that Amer prefers the IPS mode for most of its models, considering it to be perfectly suited to the units it builds.
The sundeck among her strengths
From the quay, the first thing that catches the eye is the sundeck, which Amer has nicknamed the “promenade sur la mer”. It offers 60 m2, mostly protected by a hard top, open on all sides to enjoy the marine spectacle when sailing or anchored. Panoramic view guaranteed from this place that will be arranged to suit the buyer‘s taste. The F100 we visited had the maximum equipment: a saloon with sofas, chairs and table for eight, a bar with grill, refrigerator and ice maker and still enough space to fit two to three deckchairs or a jacuzzi. Obviously, the sunbridge also has a central helm station with a settee for three. The forward relaxation area (27 m2) is on the same level as the sundeck and is accessed via the port side gangway. There is also a starboard gangway which starts at the level of the main deck in the cockpit. As well as the large deckhouse solarium, there is a forward lounge just before the technical area. The stern has a classic, but convivial design. Two-thirds of the teak-laid bathing platform is hydraulically operated. The transom opens onto the garage that can accommodate a 4.35 m tender and a jetski. On each side, a staircase leads to the 27 m2 cockpit, large enough for a lounge for eight and a sunbed overlooking the transom. What‘s more, it‘s completely sheltered by the sunbridge.
Five cabins, all comfortable
Stepping into the main deck is a pleasant moment as this space enjoys plenty of natural light and a panoramic view thanks to the large side windows. We immediately sat down in the living room, furnished with an L-shaped bench seat and armchairs. A low piece of furniture discreetly separates it from the dining area, which accommodates up to eight guests. The independent galley is within easy reach, allowing for fast service. It is fully equipped for the chef to create delicious meals. Forward of the main deck is a very comfortable 35 m2 master, with contemporary decoration of discreet luxury and a generous sea view. Above this suite, a half deck is dedicated to the main wheelhouse. Finally, guest accommodations are located on the lower deck with four double cabins of 20 m2, with an en suite and an independent shower. For the interior designs, Amer turned to the undisputed talents of Palomba Serafini and Stefano Tini. After this sea trial, we have to say that Permare and their visiting designers have mastered the art of creating a comfortable and inviting flybridge
